Velo Love: a webshop for vintage steel bikes that Sven brings back to life after work
Sven collects old steel bikes and loose parts and puts them back together into bikes that ride. He does it after work, out of love for these bikes and to keep them off the scrapheap. Velo Love had to tell that story and sell bikes at the same time.
The challenge
A regular webshop is built to sell the same product ten times over. At Velo Love, every bike is unique: its own size, its own parts, its own story. And not everyone comes to buy. Some want a bike built to measure, others just want to see the collection. Because Sven does this alongside his day job, the site also had to be easy to run.
The solution
Every bike gets its own page
Brand, price, colour, size and gearing are at the top, so a buyer can see straight away whether the bike fits. We put the whole collection online in one go from a product file. Adding a new bike after that is simply creating a product.

A bike built to measure, at an honest price
Build your bike walks you through the process step by step. Sven starts with parts from his own stock and tracks down whatever is missing through his network of collectors. The page also says up front what it costs: most builds stay under €500, and you can start from around €300.
The archive
Collection shows around twenty bikes that are not for sale. They are the inspiration behind Velo Love.

We wrote the copy in English and in the first person, so you read who is behind the bikes.
The result
Velo Love is online as a webshop that feels like a workshop. The bikes for sale are listed with their price and specifications, and anyone who wants a bike of their own knows what it costs before they ask.
