How much does SEO cost in Belgium? Our real prices, not “on request”
Most SEO agencies say "price on request". We publish our rates instead, next to what other Belgian agencies charge, so you can compare.

Ask three agencies how much SEO costs in Belgium and you get three completely different answers. An agency in Ghent puts €1,400 a month on the quote and talks about a programme of at least a year. A freelancer you know through a friend does it for €300. A third one only has “price on request” on the website and wants to book an hour long call before you see a single number.
And now you have three proposals you cannot compare. One counts hours, one counts pages, the third counts nothing and simply promises “more visibility”. Meanwhile your competitor in the next town is at the top of Google, and you still aren’t.
The short version
Here is what SEO costs in Belgium, as of October 2026. All prices exclude VAT.
| What you buy | Market price in Belgium | At Offlow |
|---|---|---|
| One time SEO audit or cleanup | €595 to €3,000 | from €349 |
| Monthly package for a local business | €250 to €700 a month | from €249 a month |
| Monthly package for a whole region | €500 to €1,200 a month | from €449 a month |
| National or in a highly competitive sector | €1,200 to €3,000 a month | tailored |
| Minimum term | often 6 or 12 months | cancel any month |
We publish our rates on our website. Not because we want to look cheap, but because a price you only hear after a sales call is usually a price that gets made up during that call.
Why does almost every SEO agency say “price on request”?
There are two reasons, and one of them is honest.
The honest reason: SEO is not a product with fixed contents. A four page site that is technically sound needs less work than a webshop with sixteen hundred products in three languages. A contractor in Stekene has less competition than a lawyer in Antwerp. That difference has to show up in the price somewhere.
The less honest reason: without a public price, the amount can move with what you look like you can afford. Drive up in a new van with five people on the payroll and an extra zero appears. That happens more often than you’d think, and it is exactly why quotes are so far apart.
We don’t think that is a fair way to do business. That’s why our prices are on our SEO agency page, with the contents of each package listed underneath. You know what you’ll pay before you pick up the phone.
A price that only lands on the table after an hour long conversation is rarely a price that was fixed beforehand.
How much does SEO cost in Belgium? Market prices side by side
To know whether a quote is reasonable, you need to know what everyone else charges. We compared the published price lists of Belgian agencies. These are not our estimates. They are right there on their own websites.
Webzley splits the market into four tiers: a starter package of €250 to €500 a month, an SME package of €500 to €1,200, an extended package with content and links of €1,200 to €3,000, and enterprise from €3,000. They put a one time technical audit at €800 to €3,000.
ClickForest starts at €700 a month, with a minimum of three months, and a standalone audit from €595. SEO and AI visibility together comes to €950 a month.
Now compare that with what a local business actually needs. A roofer working across eight towns does not need a €1,200 a month package. He needs a site that is technically right, a fully completed Google Business Profile, a page per town and someone who adds to it every month. That is work, but it is not €1,200 a month of work.
Where the price differences really come from
- How many towns or cities you want to reach
- How hard your sector fights over the same search terms
- What state your website is in today
- Whether someone writes new content every month or not
- Whether you need to rank in several languages
Hourly rate, monthly package or fixed price: which SEO pricing model suits you?
It is not just the amount that differs. The pricing model does too, and it partly decides whether you get what you pay for.
Per hour. You pay for time worked, usually between €65 and €125 an hour. Upside: you only pay for what actually happens. Downside: you don’t know in advance where you’ll end up, and you carry the risk if something takes longer than expected. Makes sense for a clearly defined job, like getting a technical problem fixed.
Fixed project price. One amount for an agreed list of work, for example a cleanup plus five pages. Upside: you know exactly what it costs. Downside: when the work is done, it stops, and SEO is maintenance by nature. Makes sense as a starting point, or if you want to carry on yourself.
Monthly package. A fixed amount per month for a fixed amount of work. Upside: something happens every month and you can follow it. Downside: if nobody spells out what that work is, you are paying for a subscription instead of results. So always ask how many pages, articles or changes go into a month.
| Format | What you pay | Suits | What to watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per hour | €65 to €125 an hour | a clearly defined problem | ask for a maximum number of hours |
| Fixed project price | one time amount | a start or a cleanup | get the list of work in writing |
| Monthly package | fixed amount per month | anyone who wants to keep growing | ask what actually happens in a month |
We work with the second and third models. We don’t bill by the hour, because then you spend every month wondering whether that twenty minute phone call really belonged on the invoice. Nobody enjoys that.
Where does your monthly SEO budget actually go?
Almost nobody asks this, yet it is the most important question. With a package of €249 a month, the split looks roughly like this.
- About half goes to that month’s new page or article: research, writing, layout and publishing.
- A quarter goes to monitoring: checking rankings, keeping your Google Business Profile up to date, fixing broken links and technical errors.
- The rest goes to the report and to staying in touch with you.
If a quote of €900 a month doesn’t show where that money goes, just ask. An agency that can’t explain it simply probably isn’t doing it.
What does SEO cost at Offlow?
Three options, nothing more. All amounts are starting prices excluding VAT, as of October 2026.
One time, from €349
For businesses that want to rank in their own town and would rather not start a subscription. You get keyword research for your town, a technical cleanup of your existing site, your Google Business Profile fully set up, titles, copy and structure put right, and a report with what was done and what you can still do yourself. The free audit beforehand already shows where you stand: this is what that report looks like, block by block.
To be honest: this works in your own town. In Antwerp or Ghent, one time work won’t get you to the top. The businesses ranking there keep building every week, and a few days of cleanup won’t catch them. We’d rather say that up front than afterwards.
Local, from €249 a month
Our most popular package. Everything from the one time package, but for your own town plus the surrounding towns, with a new page or article every month, your Google Business Profile actively managed and a short monthly report. No minimum term. Our article on local SEO and town pages explains why those pages carry so much weight.
The maths most clients do: one extra client a month and it pays for itself. For a roofer or a joiner, that is a low bar.
Regional, from €449 a month
For businesses that get clients from a whole region, for example the entire Waasland region or a thirty kilometre radius around the business. Everything in Local, but for a whole region, with two pages or articles a month, copy structured so AI can quote it, mentions and links from other websites, and a quarterly call about the numbers.
| Package | Price | Reach | New pages per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| One time | from €349 one time | your own town | none, one time work |
| Local | from €249 a month | your town plus the neighbouring towns | 1 |
| Regional | from €449 a month | a whole region | 2 |
| National | tailored | all of Flanders or Belgium | by agreement |
Why are our prices lower than an agency’s?
Not because we do less. Because there are fewer people in between.
At a traditional agency you pay for an account manager, a strategist, an SEO specialist, a copywriter and a project manager. Five people who each log their hours, plus an office and a reception desk. Of the €1,200 you pay, a good chunk goes to meetings about your account instead of work on your account.
With us, Silvio is your point of contact and does the research and the writing himself, with a few regular freelance colleagues where he needs them. No middle layer, no weekly status meeting you pay for. On top of that, a lot of the digging that used to take days (tracking rankings, comparing competitors, pulling search volumes) now takes an hour with the right tools. We pass that saving on to you instead of keeping it as margin.
What you don’t get for that price: big link building campaigns with paid placements, and forty page reports nobody reads. If that’s what you are after, you are better off with an agency with a bigger team, and we’ll tell you so.
Is SEO worth the money? A worked example
A price means nothing without the return next to it. So here is an example you can redo with your own numbers. We’ll take a roofer in the Waasland region, because that is a sector we do a lot of work in.
The assumptions, all typical figures for that sector:
- Average job: €7,500 for a flat roof or a roof renovation
- Margin on that job: 20 percent, so €1,500
- Of the people who ask for a quote, roughly one in three goes ahead
- Local package: €249 a month, so €2,988 a year
To break even over the year, you need €2,988 in margin. That is two jobs. Two roofs in twelve months. Everything above that is profit.
Turn it around and it gets even clearer. Say that after a year the site brings in one extra enquiry a month. Twelve enquiries, four of which go ahead, is €6,000 in margin against €2,988 in costs. And two years later those four clients call again for a gutter or a roof window, and that work costs you nothing extra to win.
Do the same exercise with your own numbers. Take your average job and your margin, and work out how many extra clients you need to reach €2,988. For a dentist or a lawyer, that bar is a lot lower. For a business with €300 jobs it is higher, and then the one time package from €349 is a smarter start.
Want a real figure next to the example? Glenn Piessens Renovatie in Veurne now gets 7 to 8 enquiries a month for bathroom renovations, renovations and house clearances. He got a page for every service, copy written for his area and a fully completed Google Business Profile, backed by €150 a month in Google Ads. In ad spend, that works out at around €20 per enquiry.
Important: this is a worked example, not a promise. We don’t guarantee rankings or a number of enquiries, and anyone who does is giving you a sales pitch. What we do is show you every month where you stand and what was done.
What affects the cost of SEO?
Six factors decide whether you pay the starting price or more.
Your service area. One town is cheaper than a region, and a region is cheaper than all of Flanders. Every extra town is an extra page that has to be written and monitored.
Your sector. A search like “roofer Stekene” is quiet. For “lawyer Antwerp” or “solar panels” the competition is fierce, with players who have been putting budget into their content for years. It takes longer there and costs more.
The state of your website. If your site is slow, has no mobile version or runs on an outdated system, technical work comes first. Sometimes a new site is cheaper than patching up the old one. If that is the case, we’ll tell you that too.
Whether new content is added. This is the biggest cost item. Writing copy that actually says something takes time. A package without new pages is cheaper, but results come more slowly.
The number of languages. Two languages is almost double the work, because everything gets written twice and monitored twice.
Whether you want to appear in AI answers. More and more people ask ChatGPT their question instead of typing it into Google. That takes different copy and a different structure. We explain how it works on the page about getting found in AI answers.
What SEO can you do yourself before you spend a euro?
You can do part of the work yourself, starting today. Do this first, and you’ll have a clearer idea of what is left to outsource.
- Fill in your Google Business Profile completely. Category, opening hours, service area, services, at least ten real photos. It is free and it is the fastest win there is.
- Ask five clients for a review this week. Not with a form, just a message with the direct link.
- Put what you do and where in the page title of your homepage. So “Roofing in Stekene and the Waasland region”, not “Home” or “Welcome”.
- Create a separate page for every service you actually sell. Not one page with eight services lumped together.
- Type your own service plus your town into Google and write down who ranks above you. Those are your real competitors, not the business that happens to keep you up at night.
- Test how fast your site loads on your phone over a real 4G connection, not on the office wifi.
- Put your phone number at the top as a clickable link. Sounds small, gets forgotten more often than you’d think.
Got those seven in place? Then you have the basics. What comes next (the research, the town pages and keeping it going) is where most business owners get stuck. Where exactly that line falls, and what DIY SEO costs you in hours, is covered in outsource SEO or do it yourself. That is where our work starts. The nine steps we always follow, learned from 160 websites, set out the full order.
Common mistakes when buying SEO
Choosing on price alone
€99 a month packages exist, and they exist because a script spits out a report every month. Nothing gets written, nothing gets followed up. After a year you have paid €1,188 and your site is exactly where it was. Always ask what actually gets made in a month. If the answer stays vague, nothing is being made.
Signing a twelve month contract before you have seen any results
Many agencies work with a minimum term of six or twelve months. Understandable, because SEO needs time. But it also means you are stuck if it doesn’t work out. Ask about the notice period before you sign, and ask what happens to your copy and your pages if you stop. They should belong to you.
Expecting it to be done after three months
SEO is not something you install once. It is maintenance. You usually see the first movement between month two and month four, and it starts with the long search terms that have little volume. The short, busy terms come later. Stop after eight weeks because “nothing is happening” and you have paid for exactly the part that doesn’t pay off yet.
Only looking at rankings
Ranking first for a search term nobody searches for gives you a nice report and an empty diary. Look at enquiries and phone calls, not at a green arrow in a dashboard. That is why each of our monthly reports shows how many people got in touch, not just where you rank.
Treating your website and your SEO as separate jobs
You can’t optimise copy on a site that is slow, has no clear structure or doesn’t send visitors anywhere. Then you are paying for visitors who leave straight away. What that looks like and what to do about it is in this piece about visitors who don’t turn into enquiries.
When SEO is not the right choice for you
In some situations we will tell you your money is better spent elsewhere. Here are four.
You need clients within the month. SEO doesn’t work on that timescale. In that case Google Ads is the right tool, or simply picking up the phone. SEO is for when you still want to be in business six months and two years from now.
Your diary is full and you don’t want to grow. Sounds odd, but we hear it regularly. If you are booked up until May and don’t want to hire, more enquiries are not an improvement but one more problem.
Nobody searches for what you sell. A brand new service that doesn’t have a name yet has no search volume. Then you need to create demand through ads or social media, and optimising for a search term nobody types makes no sense.
You don’t want to put in any time yourself. We write the copy, but the knowledge comes from you. Half an hour a month on the phone, telling us exactly what you do and why: that is what we need. Without it you get generic copy that could have been on any competitor’s site.
Frequently asked questions
How much does SEO cost per month in Belgium?
For an SME, the market rate is between €250 and €1,500 a month, depending on your service area and your sector. Agencies usually start around €500 to €700 a month. Our monthly packages start from €249 a month for a local business and from €449 a month for a whole region, excluding VAT, as of October 2026.
Can I pay for SEO as a one time job?
Yes. With us it starts from €349, paid once. You get keyword research for your town, a technical cleanup, your Google Business Profile set up and your titles and copy put right. That works well in your own town. For a city or a highly competitive sector, you need monthly work.
How long does SEO take to work?
You usually see the first movement between month two and month four, on the longer search terms. On the short, busy terms it takes six to twelve months, and longer in a city. A site that is already in good shape today moves faster than a site that is technically behind.
Am I locked into a contract with Offlow?
No. You can cancel the monthly packages at the end of any month. We think you should stay because it works, not because you signed up for twelve months.
What is the difference between an SEO audit and an SEO package?
An audit tells you what is wrong, a package fixes it. Our SEO audit gives you the list of what needs to happen first, in order, with an indicative price per item. You can work through that list yourself or have us do it.
Do I keep my content and pages if I stop?
Yes. Everything we make for you is on your website and stays yours. Nothing is locked and nothing gets taken down.
What are the costs of SEO?
SEO costs come down to a one time cleanup followed by a fixed monthly fee. With us, the one time package starts from €349 and a monthly package from €249 a month for a local business, excluding VAT and with no minimum term. In Belgium, an agency usually charges €250 to €1,200 a month. As of October 2026.
How much does an SEO audit cost?
A full SEO audit costs €595 to €3,000 in Belgium. With us, the research is included in the one time package from €349. Want to know first whether there is anything to gain at all? We check that for free: request your free website audit and you will have a report with an indicative price per item within 24 hours.
