Den Abeel: landscaping and renovation on one website, each with its own identity
Den Abeel from Stekene is a family business with two divisions: landscaping and renovation.

Jelle Abeel handles landscaping and garden maintenance, Saskia De Bode handles complete projects and renovations, and Diego Abeel takes care of the accounts and management. Landscaping a garden and renovating a house are two different jobs with a different kind of client. Yet they belong together: people who renovate often need a new garden afterwards. We built the website so that each division got its own colour and its own contact person, without pulling the family apart.
The brief
Someone who wants a new patio does not want to scroll through renovation photos. Someone having their bathroom redone does not want to read about hedges first. At the same time, it could not look like two separate companies, because Den Abeel’s strength is precisely that one family has mastered both trades.
Two colours, one house
On the homepage you choose right away: gardens or complete projects. Each division got its own colour: green for the gardens, blue for the renovations. Everything else is built the same way, with the same layout and the same style. So each part feels like a complete site in its own right, but you can see straight away that it is one company. At the top of each division there is a link to the other one.
The top of each division also shows the person in charge, with their own mobile number and email address: Jelle for the gardens, Saskia for the renovations. For a family business that is a real strength, because a customer would rather call someone they know by name than a general number.
Both divisions have their own results page and their own projects page. The garden division also has a jobs page, with the number of open vacancies shown in the menu.
The result
Den Abeel has one web address where visitors choose straight away whether they have come for the garden or the renovation, where each division has its own colour and its own contact person, and where the family behind it stays visible instead of disappearing behind a company name.
