An enquiry that is clear straight away.
Catering l’Apétit, a caterer in Stekene, got enquiries as a short email, with no date, no number of guests and no wishes. Then five or six more emails and a phone call followed. We built an enquiry form where the customer fills in everything themselves, and refreshed the website.
The question
Someone wants a party catered and sends a short email. It has no date, no number of guests and nothing about what to eat. So a question follows, then an answer, then another question. After five or six emails and a phone call, Catering l’Apétit finally knows what the customer wants. That costs time, for the caterer and for the customer.
Stefan De Zwart of Catering l’Apétit wanted to turn that around: know everything at once, without the customer feeling they are filling in a form. The website also had to show better what you get.
What we did.
A form, a new website and a review of Google Ads and SEO.
The customer fills in what the caterer needs.
The occasion, the date, the number of guests, which menu and how they want it delivered. The form asks it all up front, in plain language, one question at a time.
The customer always sees how far along they are.
The steps on the left show what is done and what is still to come. The customer always knows how much is left to fill in.
Plenty of people request a party on their phone.
The form works as well on a phone as it does on a computer.
The caterer gets one clear email.
Every answer sits in one email, with the customer's contact details. Replying is as simple as answering that email. The customer gets a confirmation straight away.
A website that shows what you will eat.
People want to see the food before they book a party. So the homepage opens with the kitchen at work, with one clear button: Offerte aanvragen, or request a quote.
Paying for a click you get for free.
Catering l’Apétit already ranked at the top of Google and still paid for an ad. We checked which search terms cost money and whether that is worth it.
Measure first, then improve.
Before we changed anything, we measured the site. The score was 52 out of 100 and the homepage loaded in 4.1 seconds. That is the starting point. Pages for barbecue and catering at home follow, because that is what people search for.
After that: keeping people seeing the caterer.
After that comes a steady run of posts on Instagram and Facebook, with the dishes themselves.
The result
An enquiry arrives with everything in it, and the customer knows straight away that it has been received.
