Warrens BV: managing a catalogue with eight brands and a machine of their own
Warrens BV is a Dutch agricultural machinery and construction company and a full line JCB dealer. We did not build this website.
Project description
The website already existed when Warrens came to us. We took over its management and maintenance. We still include it in our work, because it shows clearly what a catalogue of this size involves and what website management means for a company like this.
What the site has to do: eight brands, one catalogue
Warrens does not sell just one thing. JCB for earthmoving, Toyota for forklifts, Stiga for garden and grounds care, Ifor Williams and Brian James for trailers, plus Pronar, Giant and Boxer Agri. The homepage lists those brands in rows, with one image per category, so someone looking for a lawnmower does not have to scroll past excavators first. The product range in the menu breaks that down further, all the way to the type of machine.
Besides new machines, Warrens also sells what is standing in the yard. That stock has its own section of the site with twelve categories, from containers and tractors to telehandlers, wheel loaders and forklifts. That keeps a range that changes all the time easy to search.
The most distinctive product is not in the brand list, because it is their own: the Delta onion planter, developed by the founder and refined until it made Warrens the market leader. It sits on the homepage next to the dealership, with a video of the machine in the field. There is more than one dealer in the region. There is only one builder of this machine.
What website management means here
A catalogue of this size never stands still. Stock comes and goes, brands change their range, and special projects get added, such as a radio controlled trailer. Our job is to keep the site running and up to date: updates, security, speed, changes to pages and stock, and making sure a business buyer finds what they are looking for. At the bottom of the homepage are the Koninklijke Metaalunie membership and the brand logos. For a business buyer, those are two signals of trust.
The result
Warrens BV has a site that shows the full range, from a robotic mower to an excavator, with its own onion planter as the product that sets it apart. We did not design it. We keep it running, and with a catalogue of this size that is a craft in itself.
