Varex Group: a property developer website that follows every project from plan to sale
Varex Group, based in Stekene, buys, renovates and develops property across the Waasland region. They wanted a website that shows all their projects, including the ones still under construction. And one they can keep up to date themselves, without calling a web designer for every change.
The challenge
A property developer doesn’t only sell what is finished. A renovation that has just started or a new build that is still on paper is worth showing early. Put it among the homes for sale, though, and people start asking about a house that doesn’t exist yet. And if every status change has to go through a web designer, it costs time and money every single time.
The solution
Projects and properties kept apart, in one system
We built two separate content types in WordPress: projects and properties. Each has its own entry screen with fixed fields. Varex never has to lay out a page: they fill in the details and the site does the rest.
Updating a project takes a few clicks
Every project has a status: Planned, Under construction, Presale or Sold. Add to that a location, project type, key features and a photo gallery. When the build moves on, Varex changes the status and adds new photos. The project page updates straight away.
From project to for sale or to let
Once a property is ready for the market, it gets its own listing with everything a buyer looks for: price, EPC rating, bedrooms, floor area and photos. The specification, the plans and the price list are there to download. A single field, sale or rent, decides which page the property appears on. If the plan changes, the property moves with it.
No price yet?
Varex simply leaves the field empty and the site shows “price on request” instead.
For owners who want to sell, too
Varex also buys directly, without an estate agent. That is why every page ends with a call to owners, with a free valuation.
The result
Varex has a website that grows with their projects. They put new projects and properties online themselves, and every project and property gets its own page with its own title and description for Google.
