A website that comes with a warning.
Pieters Elektriciteitswerken installs new wiring, inspects existing installations and fits charging points and smart home systems. We built a website where electricity isn’t just something you read about. You see it, you feel it, and you switch it on yourself.
The brief
Every electrician says they work safely and know their trade. On paper, they all look the same. Pieters wanted a site that stands out from the other electricians.
At the same time, it couldn’t turn into a playground. Services, process and requesting a quote had to stay as clear as on any good website.
What we built.
A clean black and white brand with no colour at all, so the light itself is the only accent. On top of that, effects that are all about electricity.
A logo that gets connected.
The P in Pieters is a plug. In the hero it plugs itself in, and a cable runs down the page.
A process that runs along a cable.
The four steps, from site visit to inspection, hang from a single wire that follows you as you scroll. You always know where you are.
A fuse box you switch on yourself.
As you scroll, the six circuits switch on one by one. The house below lights up room by room, until the charging point starts charging. "Everything's live. Time for coffee."
Projects with the lights off.
The project photos start out dark. Tap "Turn the light on" and the room lights up. "There, that's better."
A lamp above the quote.
At the bottom of the page, a lamp hangs from a cable. It switches on the moment you reach "Feel the spark?"
A switch in the footer.
"Lights off" plunges the whole site into darkness. A detail almost nobody expects, and everybody tries.
The result
A website where visitors stick around longer, simply because they want to see what switches on next. Underneath the effects it's still a clear site: what Pieters does, how they work and a button to ask for a quote.
